Beauty Review: Clinique’s Moisture Surge Series

There’s no denying Clinique’s overwhelming presence in the beauty and self care space. Lining mirrored vanities for over five decades, their products have persisted across generations and remained as relevant as ever. You may be racking your brain wondering how they do it, but the answer is as simple as this — they work!
Today I got my hands on their Moisture Surge 100H Auto Replenishing Hydrator + HA Gel Moisturiser and Lip Surge Plump Treatment and I’m happy to report, I’m in love with both.
Clinique’s Moisture Surge Hydrator is a lightweight gel-cream, designed to deliver long lasting hydration. Infused with hyaluronic acid and aloe bio-ferment, it helps to lock in moisture and maintain skins hydration for up to 100 hours.
Now, I know what you’re thinking — 100 hours, seems like a lot? Give me another 72 hours and I’ll report back. But for now, I loved the smooth velvety texture of this moisturiser. It glides easily onto my skin, plumping and absorbing with no sticky residue. You know that feeling you get when you’re talking to a friend, who’s mid sentence about the guy they’ve been dating. They gaze over at your cheek with an expression that reads, ‘Girl, what’s that?’ and you just know something is there where it shouldn’t. Well not with this guy! I found that it also acts like a primer, meaning if you apply before foundation it leaves your skin looking and feeling flawless. Big 10/10 for this product!
When it comes to lip balms, I’ve tried countless gels, oils, masks, you name it, I’ve used it. But I’m always left wondering why a brand can’t create the perfect lip balm. So you know I had to pray to the Beauty Gods (or Lindsay Lohan’s dermatologist), that this one finally worked.
When they say ‘out with the old and in with the new’, this rule does not just apply to shoes, bed sheets and men over the age of 40 — it’s true for lip balms too! And it’s exactly what I said to the tube staring at me from inside my purse, sad and half squeezed, just longing to be re-purchased from my local Sephora. Well I’m sorry old friend, but your time with me has come to an end because Clinique’s Moisture Lip has taken front and centre in my lip rotation!
Yes to the dress! I mean, lip balm! Or hydro plump treatment as its aptly named. Its solid balm texture is smooth, cushiony, not oily and light weight. Like Cliniques other products in this series, it’s super hydrating and leaves your lips feeling silky with a matte after-look. It can be used as both an overnight lip mask or as a daily balm. And baby, I’ll be using it for both!
Clinique’s Moisture Surge Series is the perfect staple collection and both products are a great option for anyone in need of long-lasting hydration.
